American Sniper

My husband and I had a date night last night. He's been wanting to see the new movie American Sniper since they started airing the trailer. From the trailer, I thought, another war movie. I'm NOT a fan of war movies. American Sniper and Fury are the only war movies I've ever seen! 

American Sniper is based on a true story. Chris and Taya Kyle. It stars Bradley Cooper (Chris Kyle) and Sienna Miller (Taya Kyle). It is about Chris Kyle's life as a Navy SEAL sniper. I'm not going to give any spoilers in this post, but this is a MUST SEE movie! 

He saved countless lives with what he did as a sniper. He does 4 tours in the war and finally comes back to his wife and children. He saved and helped so many it's a shame the way he died. It may be life, we all die at some point, but not Chris. He should have lived longer; to watch his children grow, graduate school and marry. He should have been able to grow old with his wife. 

This movie deserves every award in the book! American Sniper received 6 nominations including Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Actor for Bradley Cooper. Bradley as well as this movie, deserves all awards. He portrayed Chris fantastically and the movie told his story perfectly. I will warn you, it is graphic and has strong language. The best part of the movie was the story of Chris's life. I loved being able to see who he really was and how the military and snipers really work. This will definitely change your mind about war movies. My husband said "In my opinion, this movie is better than Saving Private Ryan." I haven't seen that movie, but American Sniper in my book is #1!

When we left the theater last night, you could hear a pin drop it was SO quiet. That's not normal for exiting a movie theater. This movie had everyone crying, laughing at the funny parts, smiling at the happy moments. It's definitely one to own when it come out on Blu-Ray/DVD.
